Well, throwing yourself into unfamiliar territory is the way to improve, no? It looks pretty good! Some of the shading aroung the leg/dress area is confusingly 2D though.

Well, I'd say it's the shadow just behind her...right thigh that's throwing me off most? Also the line/fold of the dress that defines it. It's too sharp. Needs more folds built up around there to properly communicated that there's a stuff under the cloth there. I don't know if that makes ANY sense. I'll whip up a modified version for you to communicate what I mean if it doesn't.

The back part of her dress there (behind her leg) also needs more shading. The only way light could produce a direct shadow of her leg like that would be if the lightsource was pointed directly at her leg from the front (and quite strong). But the shading elsewhere makes that seem pretty unlikely. I'unno if that makes sense either... XD
